Dyno run for DOHC V-6 510
This is HP at the rear wheels. SAE corrction used
These numbers average to 187.7hp @ 6400rpm and
171.5 ft-lbs @ 4500rpm. Some intereting notes: 85% of peak torque is available from 1700-6500rpm. That makes for a 4800rpm "driveable range". Not bad at all! 1990-1996 300ZX's with the same engine rated at 222 crank hp typically run 178-180hp at the wheels, this indicates 19.3% loss through the driveline. Allowing for the above driveline losses (I am using a 1992 300ZX tranny) my car makes 232hp at the crank. My engine is actually an Infiniti J30 unit rated at 212hp n the J30. So I have picked up 20hp from intake, ECU, and exhaust. I have no catalytic converter, but am using the stock J30 exhaust manifolds. The temp was about 48 degrees in the dyno shop, and the uncorrected number was 200hp at the wheels. No wonder it feels faster when it's cold out ;-) For comparison, 300ZX dyno charts are HERE Back to the 510 |
