I finally have videos of the V-6 510 in
action! This was the last night it drove before we pulled the engine out (to
add turbos!). This was at PIR's (Portland, Oregon) "late night drags", where
you run straight up, not the typical bracket racing where you're just
gunning for consistency. Run 1 (3.4MB) was against an early Nova with a built 355 that they were still sorting out. He said he'd been running low 14's, which matched up evenly against the 14.2 and 14.1 I run earlier this night. During this run he apparently had some fuel delivery issues (talking to him later) and he ran a 15.02@94.4 to my 13.98@100.5 (TIMESLIP) Note in Run 1 you can hear a lady saying "come on" rooting for the Nova, and about 1/2 way down you hear another guy saying "no no no no!....aw man!" Run 2 (2.6MB) was against a very burly sounding Camaro who said his last run was a 14.3 with a missed shift. He had a built 350 with different cams, carb, etc and if it was a competition on sound only, he wins! I cut the light much better than he did (.634 to his .927), and ran down the track at 14.02@100.93 to his 14.32@103.93. (TIMESLIP) It was great, and I can't wait to go back with twice the HP I had this night.
